Samsung is believed to be working on a new smartphone that could land as a more affordable version of the Galaxy S8, with power to come from Qualcomm’s unannounced Snapdragon 840 chip.
Spotted on Geekbench for the very first time, the new Samsung model is codenamed SM-G9600, and it features a four-core processor clocked at 1.77 GHz. WinFuture speculates this could be the Snapdragon 840, which might be used by Samsung to power a new version of the Galaxy S8 possibly called Galaxy S8 Lite.
The device runs Android 7.1.2 and features 4GB RAM, which aligns it with the existing versions of the Galaxy S8 and indicates that Samsung might be preparing dramatic changes only in terms of CPU.
While very little is known at this point, launching a more affordable version of the Galaxy S8 seems to come in line with the most recent reports on the company’s flagship series of phones.
Why it makes sense
First and foremost, it appears that Samsung is not at all pleased with how the Galaxy S8 is selling, as the new model is less successful than its predecessor with only 9.8 million units sold in the first two months on the market, versus 12 million units for the Galaxy S7.
With a more affordable version, Samsung hopes it could boost sales of the S8, while at the same time tackle a wider range of markets where expensive models aren’t exactly the most successful phones.
Then, the choice of a Snapdragon 840 chip could help Samsung keep the price as low as possible, as this would be an upgraded version of the older Snapdragon 820 with improvements in terms of modem performance and GPU. The Snapdragon 820 was the flagship chip at the time of its launch, so Samsung hopes that the differences as far as performance goes won’t be so dramatic as compared to the Snapdragon 835.
Earlier information indicated that the Snapdragon 840 could launch in the fourth quarter of this year, and this provides us with a hint regarding the ETA of the new Samsung model as well. Most likely, the device would go live in the fall, possibly a couple of months after the new Note 8 model.
There are voices which seem to indicate that this could be the very first appearance of the Galaxy S9, but this is highly unlikely given that upgrades in terms of CPU and RAM are expected for the next Samsung flagship phone.
Furthermore, earlier reports have indicated that Samsung could go for the yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 845 or 850 chip, though this is just pure speculation for the time being, as the name of the next top Qualcomm processor is not yet known.

Game Of Thrones Season 7: New Cast Members
As we enter the final two seasons of Game of Thrones, we are going to see fewer new characters introduced to the story. The show is now dedicated to wrapping up the existing plot threads and can’t waste time introducing new ones.
There will be a few new characters introduced in the seventh season of Game of Thrones. The main ones that we know of include an Archmaester of the Citadel, who is played by Jim Broadbent (an actor best known for playing Horace Slughorn in the Harry Potter movies) and Alys Karstark, who is played by Megan Parkinson. Alys actually has a large role in the 5th book in the series. She is one of the heirs to House Karstark and flees to the Wall in order to seek Jon Snow’s protection, as her uncle is attempting to usurp the castle of Karhold. This storyline likely won’t make it into the show, considering Jon is no longer in the Night’s Watch.
Game of Thrones is also continuing its tradition of using celebrity fans in cameo roles. In Season 7, we will be seeing UFC Champion Conor McGregor as one of the pirates aboard Euron Greyjoy’s ship.
Game Of Thrones Season 7 Trailers
There have been two different Game of Thrones trailers released for Season 7. They have laid down the basic storylines that we can expect to see in the coming season.
The main story will focus on Daenerys bringing her army to Westeros and coming into conflict with Queen Cersei, who has rallied the Seven Kingdoms. It seems that King Euron’s fleet will also be a factor in this struggle. Arya Stark returns to the North, while Bran tries to make his way south of the Wall. Jon & Sansa are building towards a power struggle in Winterfell, which leads to Jon traveling north of the Wall at some point. It seems that the White Walkers are on the move and are almost ready for their invasion of the Seven Kingdoms.
Game Of Thrones Season 7 Posters
Each new series of Game of Thrones brings a new set of posters, along with another group of fakes that you will see shared across social media. These can generally be spotted a mile off, but there will inevitably be someone who will post a shoddily photoshopped picture of an undead dragon on your Facebook feed and it will be your job to break the news to them.
The latest batch of Game of Thrones posters depicts the main cast as Wights, with bright blue eyes and silvery white skin. It seems that all of the advertising has been heavily skewed towards the White Walkers, with ice and snow being featured prominently in all of the promotional material for the show. Are the Walkers finally going to invade Westeros or will they dick around behind the Wall for another season?
Game Of Thrones Season 7 Will Have Seven episodes
The Game of Thrones fanbase let out a collective shriek last year when it was revealed that the seventh season of the show would only contain seven episodes and would be broadcast in the summer of 2017, rather than in the spring. The reason Season 7 has fewer episodes is that the creators wanted to include more action. This meant that the show would be using more of its budget for less screen time. As such, the decision was made to cut the amount of episodes down to seven.
This change isn’t as quite as bad as you might think, as several of the episodes are longer than normal. The finale is said to be around eighty minutes long, which will make it the longest episode of the show’s run. If you add up all of the extra time added on to the episodes, then we have around eight regular episodes worth of material.
Game Of Thrones Season 7: Does Lady Stoneheart Finally Appear?
One of the most infamous characters from the A Song of Ice & Fire novels that hasn’t made it into the show is Lady Stoneheart. She was originally Catelyn Stark, who has her throat slit at the end of the Red Wedding. The Freys dumped her body into the river, which is later found by the Brotherhood Without Banners. Their leader, Beric Dondarrion, gives up the last of the fire that keeps resurrecting him and passes it into Catelyn. She awakens from her death as the wicked Lady Stoneheart, who seeks vengeance on the Freys and the Lannisters for the Red Wedding.
The return of Beric Dondarrion in Season 6 sparked rumors of Lady Stoneheart’s arrival into the series. As far as we know, Michelle Fairley has not been seen anywhere near the Game of Thrones filming locations, so it is unlikely that she is returning to the show. There is also the fact that several years have passed since the Red Wedding, which means that Catelyn’s body is probably beyond reviving. It might not be Catelyn who is brought back as Lady Stoneheart, however, as there are other Stark women in the North and Beric is on his way there. Will Sansa or Arya become the TV show version of Lady Stoneheart?
Game Of Thrones Season 8 Information
Even though Season 7 of Game of Thrones hasn’t begun yet, there is talk of what is going to happen in Season 8, which is confirmed to be the final Season of the show. Benioff & Weiss have confirmed that the eighth season has almost been completely written, but actual production hasn’t begun yet. There have been many rumors about Season 8 being pushed back to 2019, though the creators have claimed that they aren’t far enough in the production schedule to know when it will be finished.
HBO is likely in no rush to finish Game of Thrones, considering that it is one of their biggest shows. With that being said, they must know that the show has a shelf life and that they will need other hits to keep the network going. Luckily for HBO, they have Westworld, which was one of their most viewed series of all time. It seems that Westworld is being primed to take Game of Thrones place in the future.
Game Of Thrones Spin-Offs Are Happening
With Game of Thrones entering its final years, it seems that the story of Westeros is drawing to a close… or at least, the Westeros as we know it. HBO has announced that four spinoffs for the show are being considered for development.
We currently know for a fact that the two most likely candidates for Game of Thrones prequels are not among the four under consideration. The Dunk & Egg prequel novels won’t be adapted, nor will we see Robert’s Rebellion on the screen.
This leaves the question of what stories remain that could be adapted? The most obvious candidate is the “Dance of the Dragons”, which was the Targaryen civil war that ended up with the deaths of most of their dragons. There is also the possibility of an adaptation of the first war against the White Walkers.
Game Of Thrones Season 7 Differences From The Books
It’s safe to say at this point that Game of Thrones and A Song of Ice & Fire have become two separate entities. The show has had to ignore or severely reduce several of the main plotlines from the books, as there isn’t enough time to include them all.
Lady Stoneheart’s presence is one of the biggest differences from the books. There is also a plot involving a character named Young Griff, who Tyrion discovers is actually Aegon Targaryen. Aegon is technically the rightful King of Westeros and he lands in the Stormlands with an army to retake his homeland. Prince Doran Martell sends his oldest child, Arianne, to treat with Aegon and see if he truly is who he claims to be.
The story of Aegon’s true identity has become a major plotline in the A Song of Ice & Fire novels. The showrunners decided to remove it, as it would only have complicated the narrative further. Aegon’s removal in the show suggests that he won’t be sticking around for long in the books as well.
Game Of Thrones Season 7: The Directors
The seven episodes of the latest season of Game of Thrones were split across four directors, with each of them filming two episodes, except for Alan Taylor, who only did one.
The four directors are Jeremy Podeswa (who did episodes 1 & 7), Mark Mylod (episodes 2 & 3), Matt Shakman (episodes 4 & 5), and Alan Taylor (episode 6). Jeremy Podeswa has worked on numerous HBO shows in the past, such as Boardwalk Empire and True Blood. He has previously directed four episodes of Game of Thrones in Seasons 5 & 6. Mark Mylod has worked in the film & TV industry for years, including several famous British comedy shows. He has previously directed four episodes of Game of Thrones in Seasons 5 & 6. Matt Shakman has previously worked on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and will be making his Game of Thrones debut in Season 7. Alan Taylor has directed episodes of numerous HBO shows, such as The Sopranos and Sex and the City, as well as other shows like Lost and Mad Men. He has previously directed six episodes of Game of Thrones in Seasons 1 & 2 and is returning to the series after a long absence.
Game Of Thrones Season 7: The Writers
With Season 7 of Game of Thrones only having seven episodes, the show requires fewer writers than usual to create all of the scripts necessary. George R. R. Martin is abstaining from writing an episode, as has done for the past few years, in order to continue working on The Winds of Winter.
The writers who are confirmed to have written episodes for Season 7 are all people who have worked on the show in the past. Dave Benioff and D. B. Weiss wrote the first three episodes, along with their other duties as showrunners. Bryan Cogman has been writing for the show since the first season, where he wrote “Cripples, Bastards, and Broken Things”. Cogman is taking his Game of Thrones experience into new projects, as he currently working on a movie adaptation of Magic: The Gathering. Dave Hill started out as an assistant to Benioff & Weiss, before becoming a writer on the show in Season 5.
Game Of Thrones Season 7: The Destruction Of Briemund
Season 6 introduced one of the most unlikely couplings in Game of Thrones history. When Brienne of Tarth first traveled to the Wall with Sansa, she encountered Tormund Giantsbane, who became smitten with her. Tormund has a reputation for liking larger women, as he claims to have drunkenly had sex with a female bear in the past. Brienne doesn’t share Tormund’s affections, though fans hoped that she would warm to him over time.
Gwendoline Christie has since confirmed that the Brienne/Tormund romance subplot was totally improvised by the actors and should not be taken at face value. She confirmed that Brienne doesn’t share Tormund’s affections in the slightest.
Game Of Thrones Season 7 Spoilers
Game of Thrones has had an unusual experience when it comes to spoilers. The fact that the series had five books worth of material to spoil meant that fans of the TV show were treading through a minefield whenever they tried to research the show online. You couldn’t type Jon Snow’s name into a search engine without “Jon Snow is dead” coming up in the search bar.
Things calmed down a little when the show caught up to the books, though spoilers did creep out from time to time. This is due to the fact that the large battle scenes require outdoor filming, which is hard to hide. Jon Snow’s resurrection was spoilt long before Season 6 was broadcast because people saw Kit Harington filming the Battle of the Bastards.
With the show coming back in a few days, it wouldn’t be fair for us to put out spoilers where your poor virgin eyes can see them. If you want to know more about the first few episodes, then you can check out some of the things that we have learned below.

The new Saw movie, Jigsaw, gets an official poster ahead of its appearance at this year’s International Comic-Con. In the 1980s and ’90s, the horror genre was dominated by franchises, such as A Nightmare On Elm Street, Scream, and Child’s Play. In the 2000s and beyond though, the dominant horror franchise has become a lot rarer, with the current go-to example being the James Wan-created Conjuring universe. Few horror series were more popular in the last decade than Saw though, which Wan also had a hand in creating. Earning over $100 million worldwide on a budget of only $1.2 million, the original Saw took Hollywood by storm, spawning 6 sequels to date.
Lionsgate made the wise decision to keep the budgets on the Saw movies low – the most expensive one topped out at $20 million – making the least financially successful entry Saw VI still a hit, earning nearly $70 million on a budget of $11 million. After the tepid critical and fan reception to 2010’s Saw 3D though, Lionsgate seemed to see the writing on the wall, choosing to honor that film’s home video subtitle The Final Chapter. At least that was, until last summer, when fans were shocked by the surprise announcement of an 8th film, tentatively titled Saw: Legacy.
Last month, Saw: Legacy was officially re-titled simply Jigsaw, with the film still planned to hit theaters just prior to Halloween. Saw owned October’s box office for much of its series run, so putting the latest entry back in that slot makes perfect sense. Now, Arrow in the Head – via Lionsgate – has released the official poster for Jigsaw, as well as announced that Saw’s return will be represented during Comic-Con. Check out the poster below, and proceed to the next paragraph for the SDCC details.
While Saw isn’t exactly a Hall H level draw, Jigsaw actor Tobin Bell will be signing autographs at SDCC on Friday, July 21 from 1-2pm PST. Later that day, from 5-6pm PST to be exact, Jigsaw’s directors Peter and Michael Spierig will be participating in the Reinventing Horror panel.
Despite Bell being in attendance at SDCC – and having been confirmed to appear in Jigsaw – the above poster hints at what looks likely to be the central mystery of Saw’s 8th entry. With John Kramer having died back in Saw III – appearing only in flashbacks in the following sequels – and prior Jigsaw apprentices Detective Hoffman (Costas Mandylor) and Dr. Gordon (Cary Elwes) both not set to return to the series at this time, one can only guess who has currently opted to take up the Jigsaw mantle and test victims’ will to live, this time around.

A new report may have revealed the release date window Warner Bros. is currently aiming for with The Batman. Coming off of his critically-acclaimed debut as the character in last year’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice — the Ben Affleck-led solo film has quickly emerged over the past year as one of the more anticipated DCEU titles in the works right now. In fact, that’s why so many fans were sent into a minor panic earlier this year, when it was announced that Ben Affleck had left as the director of the film, with follow-up reports stating that the actor and director could be considering quitting the Batman character altogether.
Fortunately, Warner Bros. and DC Films managed to keep the panic surrounding the film relatively low, when they quickly replaced Affleck with Dawn and War for the Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves , someone who even The Batman skeptics agreed was a good directorial fit for the project . However, even with Reeves’ attached at the helm, the previously rumored 2018 release date for the film has been completely thrown away, leaving many fans to wonder when, exactly, The Batman may be released in theaters.
Now, it looks like Warner Bros.’ tentative release date for the film may have been revealed. Included in a report yesterday about Matt Reeves starting from scratch on The Batman — effectively scrapping Affleck and Geoff Johns’ original script for it — Variety states that The Batman is currently projected to have a 2019 release date. Make sure to take this with a grain of salt for the time being, though, since there were no other release details provided.
Assuming this release date is correct, it’s worth noting that the timetable does make sense for the project. Essentially that would give Reeves a little more than the rest of this year to write and finish his script for the film, before then casting it sometime early next year, with a production schedule likely taking place sometime in the middle of next summer. And since the report doesn’t specify when in 2019 the film could be hitting theaters, Reeves could have even more time to fine tune his vision for the film than that.
This possible 2019 release date also allows for some interesting speculation, regarding when in the DCEU timeline The Batman may take place. After all, if the film hit theaters before the already announced Justice League sequel — which is currently set to be released in summer 2019 — then it could very well be the DCEU’s lead-in to that film. But on the flip side, The Batman could also be the first DCEU film to come out after the events of Justice League 2 , which could give the film an interesting starting off point.
Again, make sure to take all of this with a grain of salt for right now, and whether Warners is truly planning on releasing The Batman in 2019 or not, this should at the very least, calm down fans who were worried The Batman may be rushed into production. With San Diego Comic-Con just a week away, it’s entirely possible that the future of the DCEU may be shrouded in much less mystery and confusion by the time the annual convention is over.

New banners for Netflix’s Strangers Things, The Defenders, and Bright have arrived in San Diego ahead of Comic-Con. In less than a week, one of the entertainment industry’s biggest events will be upon us, when this year’s International Comic-Con begins. Thanks to the broadened focus the expo has gained over the years, comics, games, movies, and TV will all collide as news, photos, and trailers arrive for upcoming projects. One of the many participants will be Netflix, which will be bringing Bright, Stranger Things, and The Defenders to the convention—with the latter also part of Marvel’s TV panel.
Next month, The Defenders will bring together Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist for Marvel’s first small screen team-up. Fan anticipation is certainly high for the street-level version of the Avengers. Stranger Things, meanwhile, will be debuting its second season this October. As one of last year’s biggest successes, fans will be eager to learn more about the series before Halloween. Finally, Bright will mark another step in Netflix’s film plans. Starring Will Smith and Joel Egerton, the original movie by David Ayer (Suicide Squad) is a police procedural in a fantasy world.
The SDCC Blog has posted photos of the banners for The Defenders, Bright, and Stranger Things season 2 on the streets of San Diego, teasing more reveals about the movie and two shows to come next week. You can check out all three banners in the photo gallery, below.
These banners aren’t the first new looks we’ve had of these projects this week. Yesterday, a new image from Bright emerged giving us our best look yet at Egerton’s orc cop from the film. While Suicide Squad wasn’t a hit with critics, Ayer’s previous track record (see End of Watch, Fury) still has many excited for the new collaboration with Netflix.
The Defenders, meanwhile, has been getting quite the spotlight recently. Today brought with it a new SDCC poster for the series along with one for The Punisher. We also got another new poster this week along with some insight into the traits each hero brings to The Defenders roster.
Finally, the poster for Stranger Things season 2 just barely arrived and confirmed the new season’s official premiere date. Though we’ve gotten a number of looks at the upcoming season so far, there’s a good chance next weekend will bring with it a new trailer for the next installment of Stranger Things.
Look for more updates on Bright, The Defenders and Stranger Things when San Diego Comic-Con gets underway, next week.

The long-proposed The Dark Tower television spinoff is still on track, and Idris Elba will almost certainly be involved. For the past ten years, Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, and Akiva Goldsman have been working on not only bringing Stephen King’s The Dark Tower book series to the big screen, but the small one as well. Long before Marvel had a shared film and television universe, the plan was for The Dark Tower to bounce back and forth between a film and season of TV. The idea sounded audacious at the time, but with the first movie finally arriving next month and the entertainment landscape changed, the Dark Tower TV show is still on track.
Before the movie can jump to TV, however, it needs to prove there’s an audience. The international Dark Tower trailer has continued to sell the adaptation, while everything from Dark Tower posters to a Funko line has been trying to get fans and newcomers excited for what could be the next big blockbuster franchise. In anticipation of the film’s success, it looks like the television show is moving along and will borrow at least one star from the film.
Deadline spoke with Goldsman, who’s both producing and co-writing The Dark Tower. According to him, not only has work begun on the TV spinoff, but Elba is very much involved:
“The first episode of a show has been written, and we hope to retain Ron’s original idea to mix platforms, something that seemed revolutionary 10 years ago but now is something that others have done. Idris for sure is part of this, and if the movie is Roland Deschain the gunslinger, the show is his origin story, based on the fourth novel in the series, Wizard and Glass.”
Elba is no stranger to TV, having made a name for himself with shows like Luther and The Wire. Thanks to his ability to walk that line, it’s not hard to see him co-starring in a Dark Tower TV show on a premium network. It’s also exciting to hear the first episode is already written, meaning the minds behind the series are confident enough to start testing the waters.
We’ve known for years that Wizard and Glass would serve as the first season of a TV show. Since most of it is told in a flashback that details a major part of the Gunslinger’s origin, it makes sense for a spinoff. While it can borrow from the film and feature bookends with Elba, the entire cast and setting would be brand new. It would also allow new viewers to dive into the universe without necessarily having to see the Dark Tower movie first.
While Star Wars and Marvel have both used TV and film to tell stories, The Dark Tower would still be pioneering in continuing one specific tale across the two mediums. While it seemed like a pipe dream to fans all those years ago, the imminent arrival of The Dark Tower in theaters makes it all the more plausible.

FX has set a summer premiere date for the final season of The Strain. In the last decade, TV has become very fond of depicting the apocalypse, and the remaining vestiges of humanity’s reaction to it. Sometimes it’s done for laughs – such as in Syfy’s Z Nation or Fox’s The Last Man on Earth – while other times the end of the world is portrayed in a deadly serious fashion, with AMC’s ratings juggernaut The Walking Dead as arguably the best example of the latter.
While never quite as popular as a show like TWD, FX’s The Strain has managed to carve out its own niche in the world of basic cable apocalypses, depicting a world where a vampire plague has decimated a good chunk of Earth’s human population in a matter of mere months. Standing in the way of what increasingly seems to be an unstoppable scourge is former CDC bigwig Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll), aging vampire hunter Abraham Setrakian (David Bradley), and the rest of their ragtag group of resistance fighters.
Over the course of The Strain’s three previous seasons, Eph and company have repeatedly attempted to put to end the spread of The Master’s bloodsucking horde, only to near invariably end up in an even worse position than the one they started in. For example, season 3 saw them get so close to defeating The Master, only to not only lose their chance but also fai-l to prevent the nuking of New York City at the hands of Eph’s scorned son Zach. Is there any hope of saving humanity at this point? Fans will soon get to find out, as Deadline reports that FX has assigned a Sunday, July 16 premiere date to The Strain’s fourth and final season.
Like season 3 – and unlike seasons 1 and 2 – The Strain season 4 will consist of a slightly shortened 10 episodes, although this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as some fans were of the opinion that cutting season 3 down from 13 to 10 episodes resulted in less filler and a more tightly plotted season overall. Still, there will likely be some Strain devotees who wish that producers were given a longer time to wrap up what has become a rather complex story.
Season 4 will begin nine months after the events of season 3, with Zach’s nuking of NYC having led to a global catastrophe. The resulting nuclear winter has allowed The Master and his brood to emerge from the shadows, setting up a new ruling class over the Earth. Most of the remaining humans now find themselves working for the strigoi, under threat of death if they don’t comply. To think, if only Eph had allowed Zach to get eaten seasons ago, this hell could have been avoided.
The Strain season 4 premieres Sunday, July 16 on FX.

With four months to go before the fall TV season kicks off, The CW have announced the premiere dates for their primetime weekday lineup. While there’s no set date for when the fall or spring TV period officially starts, most shows generally appear during a specific window in order to compete with the other networks. Most of the time, they stick with this time frame, meaning you usually know when to expect your favorite shows to return and new ones to arrive. Of course, there’s never any telling what day or time a show might air, and what it will be paired with.
For The CW, there’s a special challenge as they rarely cancel any of their series. Though a few shows got the axe at the end of this season, many more were renewed. On top of that, the network has announced a number of new series. We’ve already seen trailers for Valor, Life Sentence, and the reboot of Dynasty during The CW’s upfronts. Black Lightning, meanwhile, got its own spotlight as the newest addition to The CW’s lineup of DC TV shows (though Black Lightning isn’t part of the Arrowverse ). Now, we finally know which of the new and returning shows we can expect to see at the start of the fall, and where they’ll fall during the week.
The CW has announced its initial fall lineup for the week, with all of their returning favorites and a few new series. Premiering Monday, October 9th is Supergirl season 3, followed by The Flash season 4 premiere and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow season 3 premiere on Tuesday, October 10th. Riverdale begins airing at its new time on Wednesdays with its season 2 premiere on October 11th, while Arrow season 6 will follow Supernatural season 13 starting on Thursday, October 12th. Finally, rounding the week on Fridays are Crazy Ex-Girlfriend season 3 and Jane the Virgin season 4, starting on October 13th.
The week will kick off with an interesting pairing, as Supergirl joins forces with new military drama Valor. Tuesday will be all about the fantastical, with Legends of Tomorrow right after The Flash. Wednesday pairs the new Dynasty with hit series Riverdale, offering a block of the network’s most outwardly soapy shows. On Thursday, Supernatural will be moving in with Arrow, giving fans all the more reason to wonder if a crossover between the two series will happen at last. The weekday will round out with two of the network’s more critically acclaimed series, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Jane the Virgin.
As for Black Lightning, that DC superhero TV show is expected to premiere midseason in 2018 on The CW , starting off in the spring or filling in for a show with a long hiatus. If that’s the case, it may not be getting a full series order. Returning shows on The CW like iZombie and The 100 are also expected to premiere in the spring, meaning a few of the fall shows should be seeing limited runs.

60FPS in 1.6 este suficient.
